Somebody Oughta Say Something

Say it!  Shout it!  Sing it!  The world needs to hear it.  There is no greater sound to fall on my ears than the sounds of testimonies.  Often my days of sadness have turned into moments of rejoicing to hear the saint tell of the awesome display of God’s majestic grace and redeeming mercy in the time of need.  Somebody oughta say something.  Oh to hear the saints tell of one stricken with cancer, requesting the prayers of many, only to find after treatment, that same deadly cancer to be in remission!  Makes me lift my hands in glory and shout praises to the name of Jesus, the Great Physician.  Oh to tell how in the hour of need, God at an opportune time brought a provision to allow the witness to press on!  My heart is filled with thankfulness.  We have something to say!  Say it!  When we refuse to talk, we are robbing not only those who need to hear, but we are robbing ourselves as well.  Shout it!  Do not let opportunities pass you by to be a witness for the glorious Kingdom of God.  The Psalmist says, “Let the redeemed of the LORD say so, whom He has redeemed from the hand of the enemy”. (Psalm 107:2)  The things he has done for us should spring forth from our soul ready to share the blessings with all those who are near and will hear.  It must not and should not be contained.  Oh to hear the story of the saint stricken to the point of death.  Family and friends gathered as the doctors shared the gloomy outlook on what is expected in the days ahead.  Prayer spread like wildfire from church to church and home to home and heart to heart.  Daily the saints prayed on behalf of their dear sister in Christ.  The prospect grew dim by the days.  Yet, the saints were resolute in their agenda to pray for their dear sister.  Then God answered.  From His throne, He reached down to touch this dear sister and made her well again.  Today, she walks, she talks, and she tells others about the glorious work and miracle within her.  Say it!  Hear the story of a precious child stricken with cancer.  A mother’s heart torn to emotional shreds upon reception of the news concerning her precious daughter.  Yet she refuse to buckle in her faith.  Even in the darkest days of distress, she shared her faith with those who would hear.  Her faith served as a shining example as she said it, shouted it, and sung it, that God was still God and His mercy endures forever.  After two and a half years, God took her beloved daughter home.  The faith of the mother still remains strong knowing her daughter is safe without suffering in the arms of Jesus.  As we reflect on His goodness, our eyes should be opened to the surrounding and ever present grace of God.  Say it.  Let others know.  Your words and your testimony may be just what they needed to hear on a day such as this.  Say it, turn a frown into a smile.  Shout it, shine a light in the darkness.  Sing it, give a glimmer of hope in a seemingly hopeless circumstance.  We must send out the invitation to share and take any invitation to share.  Come and hear, all you who fear God, and I will declare what He has done for my soul. (Psalm 66:16).  In a world increasingly spiraling into hopelessness and darkness, somebody oughta say something.  There is a hope and there is a light and it is found in Jesus Christ.  He heals.  He provides.  He protects.  He satisfies.  He cares.  He loves.  He is one Savior and one Creator, but He is for everyone it.  You have a light within you, let it shine.    My prayer for me is to have the same attitude and commitment as the one found in the words of Isaiah, “I will mention the lovingkindnesses of the LORD and the praises of the LORD, according to all that the LORD has bestowed on us, and the great goodness toward the house of Israel, which He has bestowed on them according to His mercies, according to the multitude of His lovingkindnesses.” (Isaiah 63:7)  Somebody oughta say something, and that somebody is you.
